Too cold to cook? Try Japanese "NABE" (Hot Pot)!

Too cold to cook? Try Japanese "NABE" (Hot Pot)!

Hello! I am Ishio from Yokohama Meido Acupuncture Clinic.

What do you eat for dinner in this cold Japanese winter? If you feel "It's too cold and troublesome to cook...", I highly recommend Japan's soul food: "NABE" (Hot Pot).

It is super easy. Just cut vegetables and meat, put them in a pot with soup, and boil! It is the best friend for busy people. You can find many flavors of "Nabe Soup Base" at supermarkets. Just buy one, pour it in, and cook. There is no easier dish than this!

◆ The Best Part: "SHIME" (The Finish)

The real fun of Nabe comes after you finish eating the ingredients. We call it "SHIME" (The Finish). We put rice or noodles into the leftover soup to enjoy the flavor until the very last drop.

Some people like adding Udon or Ramen noodles, but my personal recommendation is "OJIYA". It is a Japanese-style risotto or porridge. You add rice to the soup and finish it with a raw egg. It is delicious!

By the way, my favorite flavor is "Chicken Salt Broth (Tori-Shio)", but my wife loves "Kimchi Nabe".

There are so many flavors to explore. Please try Nabe and find your favorite style!
